Linda Kuhbacher
Linda Kuhbacher was raised on a ranch in central Montana, the "middle child" in a family of eleven brothers and sisters. She often accompanied her father to check on newborn baby calves, wheat waving against skies of blue, or the emergence of Shooting Stars. Life held many wonders! Her mother, by calling the children outdoors to watch the thunderclouds roll in and marveling at the excitement of the lightning, taught her to "see" beautiful things. The setting sun splashing gold on the hills or lavender shadows against the snow were brought to notice. Linda believes this introduction was her most valuable art education. With camera in hand she started searching out "the beauties that are often missed".
After graduation Linda took a position photographing children and became further intrigued with the charm of the human face. Marriage and the raising of four daughters with her husband, Tom took center stage, but Linda continued to carve out time for her art and photography. Working in pencil, pen and ink, oil, acrylic and pastel she joined the Lewistown Art Center and started showing and selling her works in the Lewistown, MT area.
A move to Boise, ID in 1987 provided opportunity to take college art classes. She studied design, portrait and figure drawing, lettering and watercolor. In addition, Linda has attended various workshops to further her skills. Her enjoyment of decorating meshed with painting experiences. Soon, her occasional murals done for family or friends suddenly blossomed into her own business, Murals, Theme Rooms & Accents.
Linda is a past member of The Nampa Art Guild, The Idaho Watercolor Society and The Art Source Gallery. She also enjoys the friendship and encouragement of her friends of Canyon Arts & Crafts. Her artworks have been exhibited and sold in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas. She has illustrated two books and has received various awards including "Peoples Choice" in three states.
Linda believes that her talent is a gift as well as an ongoing partnership with God. "We work together and at times I am awed by what has happened." She hopes those who give pause to reflection will be inspired, uplifted and drawn near.
She can be contacted at: 5501 S. Fruithill, Boise, ID 83709; 208-562-0902
